Six-year-old Hushpuppy lives with her alcoholic father in Bathtub, an island and a slum settlement in Louisiana.In spite of her age, she is independent and a bundle of energy: she cracks crabs with her bare hands, fights, has a special connection to animals and feels at home in the swamp. When a storm comes and she is brought to the mainland as if, Hushpuppy has to defy the adversities with her fantasy.
